MHS Media Center Transformed into Learning Commons
There's no "shushing" here. Instead, the heart of Mason High School has a definitive buzz. Over the summer, Mason High School's Media Center was transformed into a Learning Commons. This isn't just a name change - it's an attitude adjustment.
The Learning Commons' vision came from a spirit of collaboration, and was completed re-purposing many items already in the media center.

Spaghetti Benefit Dinner

The Mason Corps of Cadets is sponsoring a Spaghetti Benefit Dinner. This will take place February 28th, 5:30- 8p.m at the small commons. All proceeds will go toward care packages for soldiers overseas.  Singers from the Honors Concert Choir will be present for entertainment, also with the addition of live speakers.

7th Annual Taste Of Mason: A Huge Success

Mason High School held its 7th annual Taste of Mason Festival which was a very huge success. Many cultures were present to represent the diversity that is currently present within the Mason District. There were cuisines of many variety which came from restaurants such as Chan’s Asian Wok, Banana Leaf Modern Thai, Mason Grill, Oleg’s German Family Restaurant and many more . Many cultural events from Bollywood dancing to Jazz performances took place within the Mason High School building.

Trimesters to Semesters

As the year is ending, semesters are approaching with a rapid pace. There many positive components that come along with the semester change. New Classes are added, expanding the horizon of topics that are to be taught in school and many new AP courses will be introduced. Due to the change in semesters the Mason School District will save $1.5 million each year.

Summer School Registration

Summer School Registration has officially begun. Students should register to recover or take extra-credit courses. Summer School registration will based on a first serve and first come basis, so be aware to register if you are willing to take Summer School. Below are attached documents which will give more info

Mason School Board Adopts Snow Day Alternative, Asks ODE to Approve Plan

After using the district’s fifth snow day on January 21, Mason City Schools superintendent Dr. Gail Kist-Kline asked the school board to approve a calamity day make up plan that would give students an alternative to making up days at the end of the year. The board approved the plan during its regularly scheduled January 21 meeting, and will ask the Ohio Department of Education to approve the calamity day alternative make-up plan.
