05/08/08 -- Varsity Baseball Defeats Sycamore, Seals 2nd Place League Finish

On Monday, may 5th the Boys Varsity Baseball team traveled to Sycamore to take on the Aviators in Greater Miami Conference showdown. The Comets who trailed going into the final inning by 2 runs (6-8) were down to their final out when Scott Klever knocked a a shot out of the stadium with Derek Cox and Ryan Collins on base to take a 9-8 lead.

05/06/08 -- Pitcher's dual ends with a Mason Victory over #1 ranked Colerain
In what turned out to be a pitcher's battle, the Comets defeated the #1 ranked Colerain Cardinals on Monday in an extra innings saga that ended in a 2-0 score for the Comets.

05/02/08 -- Varsity Baseball Claims Impressive Victory Over Hamilton
The Mason Varsity Baseball team went into Wednesday afternoons Greater Miami Conference game with Hamilton with a league record of 9-5 while Hamilton posted a 8-6 record in league play.

05/02/08 -- Mason Defeats Former Rival Harrison
The Mason Comets started strong yesterday as they came out the victor over the Harrison Wildcats. The Comets ended the day with 9 hits and scored 3 runs in the 3-0 victory. Christin Miller provided the Comets with her strongest performance of the season allowing only 1 hit and had 7 strikeouts on the day.

04/29/08 -- Varsity Green Tennis Takes 3rd at Coaches Classic
Finishing with their best finish in school history, the Boys Varsity Green Tennis team captured third place at last week. The Coaches Classic is the largest tournament in the country and the Comets were in the top flight of the tournament and were the only school that in the tournament that had all five teams still playing on Saturday.

04/28/08 -- Comets Take Third at Mason JV Invitational.
After being shutout 5-0 by eventual champion McAuly the Comets soared back in dominating fashion to win three straight on Saturday afternoon at Mason.

04/25/08 -- Junior Varsity Softball Pitcher Schaffer Strikes Out 16
Mason freshman Zoie Schaffer made her JV pitching debut against the Sycamore Aviators this week. In her first appearance with junior varsity team, Schaffer managed an amazing 16 strikeouts in the 11-5 Comet victory.

The Comets coached by Eric Stockman and assistant coach Angie Schur stated, “the Aviators had a rough time of tracking the pitches and Schaffer continued to keep the Sycamore team swinging.”

04/23/08 -- Varsity Green Tennis Slips By Lakota West 3-2
Head Coach Linda Kirtley’s Varsity Green Tennis team slipped by Lakota West Tuesday afternoon as the defeated the Firebirds 3-2 on their way to remaining perfect in GMC play.

Mason’s first and second singles players fell in their matches, but the Comets were able to regroup as both Sameam Shahrestani defeated Martin Burbank (0-6, 6-3, 6-3) in third singles.

04/23/08 -- Lady Luck Doesn’t Come Through for the Comets as Varsity Softball fallson the Road
Mason crossed Butler-Warren road on Tuesday afternoon for a meeting with Greater Miami Conference rival Lakota East in a game that left the Comets wanting a few more innings to push the runs across the plate. The Lakota East pitcher Allison Mills did a good job of mixing up her pitches and using everything in her arsenal to help stymie the Comets offense.

After defeating Oak Hills (4-1) last Thursday, then defeating Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (5-0) for the first time ever, the Mason Varsity Green Tennis team fell at Loveland on Monday, April 21st 2-3 in a very close and competitive match according to Head Coach Linda Kirtley.
