The Lady Comets made their third straight appearance in the District Finals at Harrison on Saturday against Walnut Hills. Mason gave a tremendous effort after falling behind by as many as 13 in the contest. Unfortunately the Comets fell just short losing by a final score of 48-87.

Mason competed this past weekend in the programs first State Meet. The Comets finished an impressive 7th overall with a 4th place finish as a team on the floor exercise. The Mason Wrestling team qualified a program record six participants to the OHSAA State Championships held at Ohio State this past weekend. Although no state champions were crowned this year the team had a tremendous tournament and season.

For the third straight year the Mason girl's basketball team has advanced to the Southwest Ohio Division 1 District Finals.  The Lady Comets won a stunning 49-42 triumph over No. 5 Oak Hills (17-5) on Saturday at Kings High School in the Sectional Finals.  It was the third meeting of the two schools this season with the Highlanders winning the first two.

For the first time in the program's history, the Mason Gymnastics Team has advanced to the State Championships.  The Comets (135.9) finished District Runnerup to Lakota West (136.4) at this past weekends District Championships with the top two teams advancing to next weekends State competition.  Over 100 gymnasts and 15 teams competed at the event held at Lakota East.

The Mason Girl's Swimming and Dive team finished fourth at this past weekends OHSAA State Championships held in Canton, Ohio.  The Comets scored 139 points, 10 shy of third place Turpin and 12 ahead of fifth place Centerville. Upper Arlington won the state championship with 295 points.

The Comet wrestling program set a new school record this weekend at the District Championships qualifying six wrestlers to next weekends State Meet. Mason finished third overall as a team collecting 127.5 points (also a new school record). Moeller finished first at the event followed by Elder. The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualified to State.

Mason's bleached-blond wrestlers kept their recent reputation as streak-stoppers at the Division I sectional tournament by knocking off six-time defending champion Moeller on the Crusaders' home floor.

The Comets, routed by Moeller the first week of the season, avenged the dual-meet loss and finished atop Saturday's final team standings with 267.5 points.

Mason girls and boys bowling teams qualified for Districts at this past weekends Sectional Championships at Crossgate Bowling lanes.  The girls finished 5th overall with the top 5 teams earning a spot to move on in the post season.  For the Comet ladies it marked the first time in the programs history that they have qualified for District competition.
