Painting I
(.5 credit)
This studio course is designed to provide students with basic painting skills. Students will explore various styles and techniques as they work with watercolor. Emphasis will be placed upon visually describing, interpreting, and organizing subjects into unified compositions.

Painting II
(.5 credit)
This studio course will build on the skills and techniques explored in Painting I. Emphasis will be placed upon personal expression through acrylic painting media. A variety of both traditional and non-traditional painting techniques will be explored. Students will be expected to provide some materials
Prerequisites: Grades: 10, 11, 12, Painting 1 with a grade of “C” or better

Painting III
(.5 credit)
This course will build on the basic skills and knowledge learned in Painting II. Emphasis will be placed upon working with the human figure and execution of works with multiple painting media. Traditional and non-traditional artists, techniques and materials will be explored. Students will be expected to supply some materials.
Prerequisites: Grades: 10, 11, 12, Painting II with a grade of “C” or better and teacher recommendation
