Introduction to Digital Image and Design
(.5 credit)
This introduces the computer as a tool for creating and designing digital images. It will be taught jointly between the Applied Technology Department and the Art Department. Students will learn basic digital imaging techniques using a scanner and digital camera. They will learn to use Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator Software to manipulate, retouch and compose images, and will learn basic animation using Flash Software. This course will supply the basic knowledge of digital imaging and design needed for Web Page Design, Computer Programming, and Applied Technology.


Advanced Computer Art and Design
(.5 credit)
This advanced art technology course if for art students who are considering a career in Graphic Design and for those who enjoy working with technology for creative self-expression and design. Students will use the basic PhotoShop skills learned in Introduction to Digital Image Design to create works of art on the computer. Emphasis will be placed on using the computer as a tool for making art rather than learning new software.
