Orchestras Perform and Tour in Nation's Capital On February 22, 118 members of the Mason High School Honors Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra, along with director Stephanie Jones and parent chaperones, traveled to Washington D.C. to collaborate with the National Symphony Orchestra. The trip, paid for by orchestra members and their families and through fundraising efforts, also included performances and tours throughout our nation's capital. "The NSO is known throughout the world as one of the premiere orchestras," noted Jones. "With innovative programming and strong educational outreach, they reach an audience far beyond the borders of Washington D.C." The NSO requested a recording of the MHS orchestras and biographical information about the program before inviting the group to collaborate.
