This weekend, the William Mason Marching Band traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for the Bands Of America Super Regional, placing in second.
This competition encompasses southeastern states going to gauge of their skills in a professional setting. The marching band has prepared laboriously for this and this has been the pay off, according to Katie Hermann, a senior in the marching band. A lot of time has been put into their performance, however, this was not something that they expected to occur.
“We were going to place,” Hermann said. “But second was definitely a surprise.”
